Game: Minnesota Twins at Seattle Mariners Apr 19 2007 6:35PM
Prediction: over
Reason: At 6:35 pm our complimentary selection is on the Minnesota Twins and Seattle Mariners 'over' the total. Almost any major league pitcher would be thrilled to have an ERA of 3.60. But for the best pitcher in baseball, and last year's AL Cy Young winner, Johan Santana, these numbers are definitely disappointing. In fact, the last time Santana had a higher ERA for an entire season was way back in 2001. But Santana does have a habit of starting the season slowly, as last year Santana went 1-3 with an ERA of 4.45 during the month of April. Santana's opponent on the mound will be another lefty, veteran Jarrod Washburn. The 'over' is 10-2 in Seattle's last 12 games as an underdog and 10-4 in the last 14 meetings between these two teams. In the last four games between these two teams, a total of 51 runs have been scored, or an average of almost 13 runs per game. Take the 'over'. As always, good luck...Al McMordie.

Game: Minnesota Twins at Seattle Mariners Apr 19 2007 6:35PM
Prediction: over
Reason: Santana has given up 4 ER's in 2 of his 3 starts this season. All three of his career starts in Seattle have played over the total. The over is 6-3 for the Mariners heading into last night's contest. The over is 10-2 in Seattle's last 12 games as an underdog. The team's have played the over in 10 of 14 games prior to last night's contest. Four of the last 5 meetings in Seattle have played the over. Play the Over.

Game: Cleveland Indians at New York Yankees Apr 19 2007 1:05PM
Prediction: New York Yankees
Reason: Yankees have scored 19 runs the first two games of this series. They have beaten Cleveland 7 of the last nine at the Stadium. CLEVELAND is 15-28 against the money line after 2 or more consecutive overs over the last 2 seasons. The YANKEES are 120-56 against the money line after one or more consecutive overs over the last 3 seasons. Take NEW YORK!

Game: Houston Astros at Cincinnati Reds Apr 19 2007 7:10PM
Prediction: Cincinnati Reds
Reason: Cincinnati starter Bronson Arroyo is 3-0 with a 1.74 ERA in his last 3 starts at home vs. Houston. The Astros Woody Williams has a 7.50 ERA in his last 3 starts at Cincinnati. Williams has been hit hard so far this year allowing 13 runs in 16 innings of work in his 3 starts. We like Arroyo and company to win here tonight. Play On Cincinnati

Rarely will you find a pitching disparity as big as this one, as Toronto’s Halladay is a perennial Cy Young candidate while Boston’s Tavarez has two wins in 19 games vs. the Jays.
Yes this is a lot of chalk, but this price is high with very good reason! Lay Chalk with Jays -205 vs. BoSox
For starters, Red Sox starting pitcher Julián Tavárez owns just two wins through 19 career appearances against the Blue Jays, and he has started the 2007 season with a bloated 9.00 ERA and 2.75 WHIP. On the opposite end of the spectrum, Jays ace Roy Halladay is undefeated this season on turf with a spectacular 2.12 ERA and 0.94 WHIP, which sharpens here at home to 0.90 and 0.60 respectively.
This is a total pitching mismatch, so go with Halladay and the Jays.
Play: Blue Jays -205

The Rangers should be in an ornery mood after being no-hit last night, so look for them to take out some frustration on Javier Vasquez, who they have pummeled in the past, and pull the upset.
What we have here is a Texas team that was no-hit by Mark Buehrle last night, and is sending out an 0-3 starter in Vicente Padilla to face the 2-0 Javier Vasquez.
Take Texas +130 over Pale Hose
However, things are not always as easy as they seem, and the aforementioned facts actually combine to give us some nice line value on the Rangers in this spot. After all the White Sox are hitting a disgusting .215 as a team this season, which in itself makes them a poor proposition when favored by this much. Secondly, Padilla has been very successful vs. the Sox with three Quality Starts in four career outings against them, and in his last two appearances against Chicago, he allowed a grand total of one earned run in 15 innings of work.
Finally, Vasquez allowed a total of 11 earned runs on a whopping 21 hits in just 12.1 innings over his last two starts vs. Texas, so look for the Rangers to pull the upset in this situation.
Play: Rangers +130

The Cubs are in total disarray right now, so even though this starting pitching matchup appears to favor Chicago, we will continue to fade them as road chalk.
A solid spring training has all but been squashed so far this regular season for the guys in Cubbie Blue, and it does not look to get better anytime soon.
Back Braves +110 to Bark vs. Cubs
These guys are in such disarray that they cannot even get out of the way of their own shadows. We faded Zambrano and the Chubs last night and got to cash yet another ticket against these jokers. I am well aware of the success starting pitcher Rich Hill has gotten off to so far, but the "loveable losers" by no means deserve to be laying any type of chalk on the road right now.
Atlanta could have given up after surrendering a three-run early lead, but they fought back right away after they had surrendered the lead, further giving notice that they are the more dominant team in this matchup. Sure, Mark Redman has been nothing but a gas can so far this season, but the Cubs are just the team his unorthodox stuff should be able to fluster for a solid six innings.
The Cubs can't hit their way out of a paper bag right now, and they never step up when a crucial hit is needed, so back the home puppies Atlanta here tonight!
Play: Braves +110
